Romy Fraser started the company as a natural apothecary over 30 years ago. She was a former teacher with a passion for holistic health, beauty and wellbeing,  The original shop, Neal’s Yard Apothecary, was started in Neal’s Yard, London in 1981. The name was changed to Neal Yard Remedies in 1983 and is known today as NYR Organic.
